All Saints Boutique Hotel is situated in Cockermouth, also the birthplace of Wordsworth - buried in the heart of the Lake District.
This beautiful stone listed building, steeped in romantic history was a dream to convert into a unique, boutique hotel. The textures and colours we chose were inspired by wild nature, the escapism of the Lakes and the great outdoorsy lifestyle we associate with this part of the world.
Crumbling grey limestone and sparks of bright greens, blues and yellows from the surrounding flora - we kept the history of this building front of mind, weaving in the poetry of Wordsworth and his love of the famous daffodil.
Daffodils become an everlasting memory for this poet when lonely. 'A bliss of solitude'- whenever he sees the flowers in his imagination, his heart fills with pleasure and his mind dances with the dancing daffodils.
“I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.”
We combined the contemporary and historical to bring this hotel to life - with spa, bridal suite and family rooms - the overall finish is brave, eclectic and nostalgic.
